tattoo infections

Time is of the essence if you end up having to treat a tattoo infection if you want to keep your tattoo and prevent scarring. Here are some treatments you can follow to clarify any minor infection. Clean the area around your tattoo-infected. Wash the area with a clean hand using antibacterial soap and warm water. Pat dry with a clean, lint-free cloth. Keep it uncovered. You don't want anything to further aggravate the infected tattoo but you don't want to promote any breeding of bacteria. If opt to cover it use sterile gauze coated in an antibiotic cream or ointment and change it frequently.

Apply a layer of antibiotic ointment on the area two times a day. Repeat daily until the tattoo infection clears. If the infection persists and shows no signs of healing in a few days or seems to be eating the skin then want to move to step 4. Schedule an appointment with your doctor so that antibiotics can be prescribed. Take antibiotics as directed during all the time that are prescribed to treat a tattoo infection. Because the infection appears to have cleared does not mean that it has and stopping your antibiotics early can allow it to make stronger and now resistant to the medicine.
